Iconic CBD pub back on the market after auction

THE iconic pub has struggled to sell since first being put up on the market in January 2017 and was recently pulled out of an auction.

THE iconic Shamrock Hotel is back on the market after it was scheduled to be auctioned off last month.

The hotel has been put up for sale again after being pulled out of a scheduled December 7 auction due to "outside influence", according to the agent in charge of the sale. He declined to provide more details.

The Shamrock has been on the market since January 2017 and has been a popular watering hole in the Garden City since the 1960s.

Queensland Hotel Brokers' Ian Hayes is the agent selling the pub and said the owner was still looking for an interested buyer.

"It has been on the market for a year now and it was decided to go down the track of an auction," Mr Hayes said.

"But it was cancelled in light of the break and marketed as a price-on-application."

The pub is owned by Seona and Wayne Lee who have been renovating the pub since purchasing it in 2013.

The Lees spent $50,000 in renovations which included a room full of 65-75 inch televisions in 2016.
