How three professionals are tackling parenthood challenges

Three professionals with a desire to help women and their families reach the best possible outcome, and have combined their specialties to deliver new support program for parents.

It takes a village to raise a child, but as time has progressed, parents are finding it more challenging to ask or accept help from others.

Three professionals with a desire to help women and their families reach the best possible outcome, and have combined their specialties to deliver new support program The Parenthood Collaborative.

Co-founders Kristine Gosden, Amanda Carmody and Kathryn Millist-Spendlove said the program would assist with topics such as breastfeeding, sleep deprivation, assertive communication and building emotional resilience, among others.

“When you have a baby, you experience this massive identity transformation and in such a short space of time,” Ms Gosden said.

“Before I had a child, I was an independent woman who was so used to being confident in my role as a physiotherapist, sister, daughter, friend and partner, and then suddenly all your priorities change and I didn’t feel confident in my new role as a mum.”
