Most people celebrate the festive season on just one day every year, but one woman has found success by tapping into the niche market and making every day feel like Christmas.

From the moment you walk into the Noelle Christmas Shop, you will feel like you’re at the North Pole, with the scent of gingerbread and sound of Christmas carols.

After working in customer service since she was 15 and living in Scotland for years, Kath Grandison always had the dream of opening her own Christmas shop.

With no better time like the present, the now 60-year-old has been operating her festive store in Highfields for the past three months and business is booming.

“When we lived in Edinburgh, I fell in love with the Christmas shops there and loved that they were open all year round,” she said.

“It’s been so well received – I’ve sold out of things already and have had to reorder items.”

Stocking a combination of locally handmade items and limited edition products from the U.K, Europe and U.S., Ms Grandison said she is the sole Australian supplier of many of the items in her store.

In addition to her beautiful range of products, she credits customers wanting to beat the Christmas gift buying rush and her customer service for the young store’s success.

Passionate about making every day feel like Christmas, the business owner burns Christmas-scented wax melts, plays music and wishes every customer a Merry Christmas.

“I think the adults get more excited than the kids do,” she said.

“I’m the third Christmas shop in our area, but we all love Christmas and we all sell different things, so people should pay us all a visit.”

The store is on the New England Highway and is open Wednesday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and weekends from 9am to 4pm.
