Fitness has always been a passion Tania Hayes, who excelled in sports and running as a teen, and has since dedicated her life to helping others in their own health journeys.
The experienced trainer purchased the F45 Toowoomba West franchise four months ago, after she managed the centre for three years and fell in love with the gym structure and brand.
Now after false reports the studio would be closing, Ms Hayes has hit back at the allegations and confirmed the Toowoomba West team was here to stay for the foreseeable future.
“We are very much open and not going anywhere … we are here to stay, we are going strong and we will continue to support our local community,” she said.
“The false reports were disappointing, but I want to move forward and concentrate on the positive things we’re doing.”
The local owner-operator said she was dedicated to helping others with their fitness journeys and was proud to provide a welcoming environment for members of all ages and experience levels.
“The hardest thing is taking that first step to begin your fitness journey as it can be very overwhelming, but the community we have created is supportive and strong … we’re a family,” Ms Hayes said.
“Mental health is a massive problem in the world, so I want to open up our door, welcome everyone and help them in any way I can.”
In addition to the regular classes available, Ms Hayes also runs specialised programs for beginners, seniors aged 50 and over and kids between six and 12 years.
“My father sadly had a stroke in his 60s and because he didn’t have that muscle behind him to push through, he’s now facing a very hard time (in his recovery),” she said.
“That experience (ignited my desire) to people with strength training and to build muscle, particularly older age groups.
“I’m also really passionate about helping kids to develop proper form and technique at a young age because it’s so important for them to keep active and it’s great for their little bodies and brains.”
Committed to supporting the Toowoomba community, the gym owner also sponsors the Toowoomba Touch Association Juniors, as well as the Newtown Hockey Club with off-season training.
Grateful for the support received from her members and the two local sporting organisations, Ms Hayes said their backing had contributed to her own growth in many ways.
F45 Toowoomba West is at 1/3 Hurstway Court, Kearney Springs.
The studio also offers creche services every morning and afternoon.
