Toowoomba’s cutest cat has now been crowned and we can now reveal the kitty readers loved the meowst.
For Alex Hutchinson, 29, it was love at first sight when she first laid eyes on Millie – a sweet Tabby cat with a tortoiseshell colour throughout her fur.
It was while the region was in the midst of Covid-19 lockdowns in April 2020 when Ms Hutchinson decided to adopt Millie from the Southern Downs Animal Rescue and Kare centre.
Ms Hutchinson said while her pet’s fur colour was what initially won her over, it was once Millie had settled in at home that her quirky personality began to shine.
“She’s a bit of a water baby and always wants to have a shower – I’ve never met a cat that loves water so much,” she said.
“As soon as I get home from work, she greets me at the door, rolls over for belly rubs and jumps up onto my car and just sits there for a while.”
The proud pet owner said Millie was shy at first, but once she got to know someone she became a very affectionate kitty who loved to explore outside.
It seems the three-year-old cat has won over more people than just her owner though, after she won The Chronicle’s cutest cat competition by a landslide and has secured a growing following on Instagram.
