Hard work pays off for Toowoomba rugby stars

I HAVE to admit I was a little jealous after speaking to Toowoomba pair Holly Anlezark and Chloe Cocks last month.

OUR SAY: I have to admit I was a little jealous after speaking to Toowoomba pair Holly Anlezark and Chloe Cocks last month.

Post-interview I was thinking about how excited I would've been if given the opportunity to play football overseas as a teenager.

Late last week I felt something different - I was proud - proud of the rugby sevens duo and my hometown of Toowoomba.

I had just finished interviewing Holly as a follow up to hers and Chloe's trip to France for the Paris World Games.

The pair have recently returned from the Paris World Games with winners medallions after their team went through the tournament undefeated.

Their win - as part of a Tribe Rugby representative team - shows that dedication, hard work and commitment pays off.

It also adds another footnote to Toowoomba's proud sporting history.

Holly and Chloe may represent a Brisbane team during part of the year - but their first exposure to rugby was right here in the Garden City.

Like so many Toowoomba and Darling Downs athletes before them, they took the opportunity presented to them and ran with it.

They are a great source of inspiration for athletes from right across the region.
