More than 8.7 million social media users were exposed to the Red Centre in December, following Australian Taiwanese actor and model Hannah Quinlivan’s three-day visit to the Territory.

Best known for her work in the Taiwanese film and television industry, Ms Quinlivan has recently spent three days exploring and promoting Central Australia as a must-visit destination through her social media platforms.

Ms Quinlivan’s visit comes as a collaborative effort between Tourism NT and Moevir Magazine to raise awareness of the Red Centre in China and beyond.

Moevir Magazine is a modern lifestyle publication based in Paris that blends Eastern and Western influences, focusing on fashion, travel, art, culture and beauty.

The magazine’s upcoming issue is expected to feature Ms Quinlivan on its front cover, along with a six-page spread showcasing her experiences in the Red Centre.

Tourism NT said the Territory has gained “invaluable exposure” to potential travellers around the world as a result of Ms Quinlivan’s visit.

During her time in the Territory, Ms Quinlivan’s itinerary included experiences with Uluru Chinese Tours, Maruku Arts, and Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia.

Ms Quinlivan also participated in activities including Tali Wiru, the Field of Light installation, an Australian Native High Tea experience, Aboriginal music workshop, dot painting and stargazing.

Ms Quinlivan has described Uluru as a gift of nature and culture.

“In many places, while the natural scenery remains, the cultural stories have been lost,” she said.

“Uluru retains both, allowing more people to experience the charm of this land.”

“I feel this journey brought me closer to nature while also deepening my understanding of the preserved culture.

“I am grateful for the continued efforts to preserve these cultural treasures, enabling us to better understand history and civilisation.”

Suzana Bishop, CEO of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality said China has been identified as one of Tourism NT’s targeted investment markets.

“Feedback from our key trade, media, and airline partners has shown a growing interest in the NT as a preferred destination for Chinese travellers,” she said.

“With the China market into Australia steadily recovering, we remain committed to rolling out impressive trade campaigns with partners in the region.”
