A well-known fitness influencer and world-renowned fitness model has revealed her health battle after her house was declared uninhabitable following Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

Fitness influencer and International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) bikini pro athlete Sophie Guidolin has become seriously ill after being exposed to mould after her home on the Gold Coast was damaged during Severe Tropical Cyclone Alfred in March.

Posting to Instagram, where she has more than 528,000 followers, Ms Guidolin said her “world has shifted” after her house was “deemed uninhabitable” following the severe cyclone and she became “seriously ill” for the first time in more than a decade.

“Since my home was deemed uninhabitable after Cyclone Alfred in March, everything in my world has shifted,” she posted.

“I became seriously ill, and for the first time in over 12 years, I made my Instagram private.

“I’ve spent every waking hour focused on surviving, sheltering my kids, and slowly rebuilding a life from scratch.

“The biggest lesson I’ve learned is this: If you don’t have your health, you have nothing.”

Ms Guidolin added that she hasn’t set foot inside a gym for months.

“I see the inside of a hospital more often than a weight room,” she posted.

“And yet, this season has taught me that my total health – physical, emotional, mental – is everything.

“It’s no longer about how I look. It’s about whether I can show up – and in the right way.

“Not the ways in which my cluttered brain will try and take over, but the ways that actually move the needle.”

Ms Guidolin said she is relying on wellness practices to rebuild, as she prioritises her health.

“These last four months have been the hardest of my life,” she posted.

Ms Guidolin previously posted about her health battle in May, shortly after she was hospitalised.

“Since the update of hospitalisation on May 8, I am literally just surviving, I have never been so sick in all my life,” she posted on May 16.

“I opened my eyes to my dad crying at my condition, after flying from Adelaide.

“Thanks to my best friend and the serious legends at PRD Burleigh (PRD Real Estate Burleigh Heads) allowing site unseen while I was in hospital, the boys are now secure in a six month rental with dad caring for them and trying to navigate everything.”
