Part of a Gold Coast shopping centre was temporarily closed on Tuesday after a fire hose burst, flooding the area.
The drama unfolded at around midday in The Kitchens section and surrounding stores of Robina Town Centre.
A Robina Town Centre statement at the time said they had been forced to close the area until further notice.
“We ask that customers avoid this area until advised otherwise,” it said.
“We thank our community for their patience and understanding.”
The area was made safe and reopened later that afternoon, allowing all stores to return to business as usual.
Shopfit Co director and Skye Wheatley’s partner Lachlan Waugh shared a video of the flooding to his Instagram story.
The video showed water rushing across the floor while staff members attempted to sweep the tide away from their businesses.
The rest of Robina Town Centre traded as normal as the situation was dealt with.
