A police officer attached to a specialist unit has been charged with assault after an incident at The Star casino on the Gold Coast.

A New South Wales police officer is at risk of losing his job after being accused of assaulting a woman at The Star casino in Broadbeach.
NSW Police said the 38-year-old man, who is attached to a specialist unit, was arrested at the casino by Queensland Police officers just after 9.30pm on Monday.
The man was taken to Southport Police Station where he was charged with common assault.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday 19 February.
In a statement, NSW Police said the officer’s employment status was “currently under review”.
