An alleged member of the Mongols bikie gang has been charged with extorting, stalking and assaulting a Gold Coast man over a period of months.
The 31-year-old alleged gang member from Pimpama allegedly supplied a 31-year-old Arundel man with “a significant quantity” of cocaine which he told the man to sell.
The Arundel resident denied the request and returned the drugs.
The Pimpama man allegedly demanded $15,000 from the other party, claiming the drugs were never returned.
Police allege the Pimpama man then threatened and assaulted the Arundel-based man.
The Arundel man, they allege, paid him $16,000, however the alleged gang member said the debt had increased to $25,000.
It is alleged the Pimpama man stalked the other man over the coming weeks, coming to a head when on January 25 the Arundel man was allegedly tracked down and assaulted by the alleged bikie and fled at a venue on Wickham Street in Brisbane.
The matter was reported to police on February 8 and, following investigations by Taskforce Maxima, the Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad and Coomera police, the man was arrested while riding a motorbike on Sunday.
Police bail was denied and a search warrant undertaken at a Pimpama residence where Mongols paraphernalia was allegedly found.
