Man, 20s, impaled by tree branch at Nerang’s Bischof Pioneer Park

A man has been hospitalised on the Gold Coast after a fall at a park left him with a nasty injury. Read what happened.

A man has fallen down an embankment at a Gold Coast park, becoming impaled by a tree branch and sustaining a nasty injury.

Paramedics were called to Bischof Pioneer Park in Nerang shortly after 8am on Thursday when they treated a man in his 20s.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said he had sustained a significant but non-life threatening wound to his neck as a result of being impaled by a tree branch.

He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
