A popular Broadbeach restaurant which is closed until further notice has taken the wraps off their new pop-up venue in Nobby Beach.
Asian-fusion restaurant Mamasan Kitchen and Bar owners Lauren and JP Duitsch will officially open the doors to their new pop-up venue, Baby Mama, on Saturday.
“It’s been such a huge project behind the scenes, and to now see it come to life in such a vibrant and supportive community like Nobby Beach is really special for us,” Ms Duitsch said.
Ms Duitsch said they thought of the idea to open the new space after they deciding to temporary close their Broadbeach location for a large-scale renovation.
“We wanted to create a space that would allow us to stay connected to our loyal guests and continue doing what we love, sharing bold, flavour-forward East Asian food,” she said.
“Baby Mama is a nod to the past, but also a glimpse of the future.”
Ms Duitsch said while they were calling Baby Mama a ‘pop-up’, they had no set date on how long it would stay in Nobby Beach.
“We’re really enjoying being part of the neighbourhood and the response so far has been incredible,” she said.
“Nobby Beach has evolved into such an exciting dining precinct, and we’re proud to now be part of that energy.”
Ms Duitsch said the Baby Mama menu would feature some of Mamasan’s “most iconic dishes” including: spanner crab dumplings, Mamasan KFC and the wagyu red curry.
“Executive chef Sebastian Tan brings over 18 years of international experience and his fresh perspective has introduced some standout dishes like Sichuan burrata with house-made chilli crisp and Chinese doughnuts,” she said.
Other dishes include: scallop and prawn brioche toast, charcoal grilled market fish wrapped in banana leaf and a whole roasted duck.
To pair with the dishes are “standout cocktails” including: blood orange paloma, wagyu fat-washed old fashioned and the big mama.
Ms Duitsch said they were hoping to reopen their Broadbeach location by the end of the year.
“It’s not just a facelift, it’s a full-scale reimagination of the space, one that honours Mamasan’s roots while elevating the entire experience.”
