A Mercedes Benz has become snagged on the sand at a popular Gold Coast beach after an early morning drive.

Gold Coast police were called after a “traffic incident” on the beach at Sea World Drive in Main Beach on Friday at around 6.20am.

A police spokesman said when officers arrived they saw the luxury car stuck on the beach at The Spit.

“Upon arrival, officers conducted checks on the vehicle as well as a roadside breath test on the driver, which was negative,” he said.

“The vehicle was removed from the beach for the driver and no further police action will be taken.”
