Boxing world champion Terence Crawford has been spotted at breakfast on the Gold Coast with a notoriously violent alleged Mongols bikie associate.

The 37-year-old American superstar is on the Gold Coast for the first leg of his national tour, with events also scheduled in Melbourne and Sydney.

On Wednesday morning Crawford popped up on the social media feed of Robert “Robbie” Kingsley Corowa, the pair relaxing and having lunch at Madisons cafe Broadbeach.

Corowa has only recently been released back into the community after he was sentenced to more than 12 years behind bars in 2014 for attempted murder. The notorious alleged associate of the Mongols outlaw motorcycle gang lured his ex-girlfriend’s new partner from a home in Robina in 2011 before firing a sawn-off shotgun into the man’s shoulder.

Corowa took the Queensland Parole Board all the way to the Supreme Court in 2023 after it rejected his application to be released from custody. In refusing his application, the board found there was no evidence to suggest he had disassociated himself from the Mongols. Corowa’s solicitor disputed this.

Surfing great Wayne “Rabbit” Bartholomew and professional boxer Jeff Fenech both backed his bid for freedom which was ultimately rejected by the court.

According to police sources, Corowa has allegedly continued to associate with members of the Mongols since his release back into the community – displaying white and black flags in his social media bio which is common among members, associates and supporter of the gang.

He has also launched his own business “Abracadabra Strippers” which, on its website, says it provides: “The perfect choice when it comes to your special occasion, whether it’s a final hurrah before heading down the aisle, a significant birthday, or a wild weekend.”
