THE six hour wait to meet her idol Reece Mastin was well worth it according to fan Ashleigh Griffin.

THE six hour wait to meet her idol Reece Mastin was well worth it according to fan Ashleigh Griffin.

She lined up at Grand Central from 8.30am today and was joined by hundreds of other screaming and crying fans, keen to get a glimpse of the 2011 X Factor winner Reece.

He was in the city to perform at the Carnival of Flowers' sideshow alley, but had to cancel his live performance after falling ill with a throat and chest infection.

"Hopefully I can come back and sing here soon," Reece said.

The 18-year-old still spent time signing autographs for his beloved fans, which was enough for Ashleigh and friends Katarina Roach and Angel Sims.

"He's just so perfect," Katarina said.
