A woman says she is traumatised after a “disturbing” broad daylight assault on Pakington St two days before Christmas.

Admira said she went flying and crashed into the ground after a random man pushed into her with his elbow and upper body in Geelong West on Saturday.

“He hit me so hard … he did it on purpose,” Admira, who did not want her last name published, said.

The Geelong West resident said she ended up in hospital with a sprained foot.

She said she had exited Aussie Convenience store and was headed out for lunch when the assault happened about 1.30pm.

Admira, 38, said the man did not say anything before, during or after the assault and just kept moving.

She said bystanders assisted her while she was “in shock” after the incident.

She described the man as caucasian, wearing black pants, shoes and a top, with a tattooed arm and greyish hair.

Victoria Police spokesman Leading Senior Constable Adam West confirmed an alleged assault in Geelong West was being investigated.

“Police have been told a man walked into a woman on Pakington St about 1.30pm,” he said.

“The woman suffered minor injures.

“The investigation into the incident is ongoing.”

Admira pleaded with anyone with information to contact police, and said she wanted the man caught.

She said she couldn’t sleep the night after the assault.

Admira said she had been looking forward to the Christmas break, but instead she ended up wondering why she’d been assaulted in broad daylight.

“It’s just scary,” she said.
