A woman is in hospital after her car cannoned into a Geelong kebab store on Friday morning.
It’s understood the driver, in her 60s, lost control before driving over a pedestrian footpath and crashing through the shopfront of Kebabman on Boundary Rd in Thomson.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene shortly after 10am.
The woman was helped by staff of nearby businesses before being treated and taken to Geelong hospital with upper body injuries.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said she was in a stable condition.
One witness said the collision was “so loud” and it was “lucky nobody was on the footpath”.
The kebab shop was not open at the time of the crash and remains closed.
The store has been contacted for comment.
Victoria Police are not investigating the incident.
The Boundary Rd shopping strip is no stranger to the wail of emergency sirens, with traders left on edge after a number of recent arson attacks linked to the tobacco wars.
The Lucky 7 convenience shop, located four stores down from Kebabman, was gutted by flames in November last year after twice being hit with firebombs.
Police believe the store was the victim of mistaken identity.
