Police appeal for witnesses of fatal Norlane e-scooter crash

Geelong police are seeking to locate two men they believe may have witnessed a fatal e-scooter crash in Norlane on Monday.

Geelong police want to speak to two men who they believe witnessed a fatal e-scooter crash in Norlane on Monday.

Police have been told a 31-year-old man was riding an e-scooter along Forster Street when he fell off about 6.40pm.

Two men travelling in a dark-coloured ute raised the alarm with some nearby road workers who called triple-0, police said.

Police said despite the best effort of emergency services, the Norlane man died at the scene.

“Investigators believe the two men in the ute may have witnessed the incident and are urging them to come forward,” Victoria Police spokeswoman Leonie Johnson said.

“The utility is believed to be an early 2000s model Holden Colorado with ladder racks.”

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are preparing a report for the coroner.
