A man has been treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at a property in Corio on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services responded to a structure fire in a set of units on Lincoln St about 3pm after callers to triple-0 reported smoke coming from one of the buildings and a smoke alarm going off.
A Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) spokesman said “firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes to find smoke coming from the building”.
“One patient was treated by firefighters before they were handed to Ambulance Victoria for treatment with smoke inhalation,” he said.
“FRV and CFA crews contained the incident, which was deemed under control at 3.23pm.
“Victoria Police was also on scene.”
A man could be seen being taken away on a stretcher by paramedics.
A neighbour said she was alerted to the fire when she heard sirens.
“I was just in my living room, I had no idea they were coming to our street,” she said.
“I just hope everyone is OK.”
The power company was requested to attend.
