Geelong’s first sushi train has opened in the city’s centre, much to the delight of residents who love Japanese cuisine.
Hi Sushi on Malop St opened the train on December 15.
Manager Margaret Pan said the response from customers had been “very good”.
“Everyone loves it,” she said.
“It’s very exciting and very entertaining for kids and families.”
More than 50 different types of sushi are served on the train, including meat and vegetarian options.
The restaurant was renovated before the sushi train opened and now features stylish red booths.
It also offers a variety of other Japanese foods including hot ramen and bento boxes.
Ms Pan said it was “very exciting” to have opened the first sushi train in the region.
“We’ve very happy,” she said.
“We love to see our customers come in and see their happy faces.
“The customers are really enjoying what we’re serving … (and they) feel very lucky to have a sushi train in Geelong.”
Each plate of sushi is between $4.20 and $6.20.
Hi Sushi is located at 76 Malop St, Geelong.
The sushi train is open on Sunday to Thursday from 9.30am to 8pm and on Friday and Saturday from 9.30am until 9pm.
Hi Sushi has a number of locations across the region.
