It may have been harder for Geelong residents to get out of bed this morning as the region recorded its coldest start of the year so far.

Geelong residents have shivered through the coldest morning of the year so far, with the mercury dipping to below 0C.
The weather bureau has issued a frost warning for parts of the state on Wednesday morning, including the Geelong region.
Geelong Racecourse recorded a low of 1.9C just before 7am while Avalon hit -1.1C at 7am, but it felt more like -4C.
Many Geelong residents woke to frost covering their windscreens.
The cold temperatures are due to a low-pressure system slowly moving across Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales which is bringing icy conditions.
The cold didn’t stop some Geelong residents, including Paz Glover, 12, and his little sister Queenie, 9, who braved the chilly conditions for a walk at Eastern Beach.
But forecasted sunny conditions won’t warm up the region too much on Wednesday, with Geelong and parts of the Surf Coast expected to reach 12C while Queenscliff will only hit 11C.
The cold morning is set to stick around with Geelong set to reach 12C on Wednesday and 14C on Friday because some rain settles in on the weekend.
