A Geelong man has been charged after allegedly assaulting an elderly stranger with a brick at a bus stop in Melbourne.
Police allege an elderly man was waiting at a bus stop on Station St in Burwood just before 2pm on Saturday.
The victim was approached by an unknown man who then assaulted him with a brick and fled the scene.
A 76-year-old man from Burwood man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 34-year-old man from Geelong West was arrested shortly after.
He has since been charged with intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury, common law assault and assault with a weapon.
He was remanded to front the Ringwood Magistrates Court on Friday.
