Entry to proceed as normal for GMHBA Stadium AFL blockbuster between Cats, Bulldogs

Cats members heading to the crucial AFL clash with Western Bulldogs at GMHBA Stadium have been reminded of entry procedures amid fan concerns over the global digital outage.

Geelong members heading to the crucial AFL clash with Western Bulldogs at GMHBA Stadium have been assured their online tickets will work amid concerns over the global digital outage.

Cats fans have been contacted by the club confirming entry to the game will take place as per normal on Saturday night.

The move should allay fears from some supporters of any disruptions for the 30,000 plus strong crowd expected at the ground, a day after a mass IT outage caused chaos across the city and around the world.

Patrons should not be affected by the IT outage at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday night.

Cats members will be able to access their mobile member tickets as normal via the Cats App to enter the venue, the club stated on social media.

Ticketmaster also released a statement this afternoon saying patron entry for AFL matches at Marvel Stadium, ENGIE Stadium and GMHBA Stadium would proceed as normal.

“Issues impacting mobile member tickets yesterday as a result of the global digital outage have been resolved overnight for today’s matches,” the statement read.

“Members will be able to access their mobile member ticket as normal via the Club or AFL app.

“Anyone with a ticket in their digital wallet, physical or downloaded PDF ticket and anyone with a physical membership card can also proceed to scan as normal.

“We thank everyone for their understanding and patience.”

The recent $260m upgrade to GMHBA Stadium, completed earlier this year, puts the ground capacity at 40,000.

The stadium is a cashless venue.

It comes as many services returned to normal on Saturday afternoon, including public transport.

The Cats will look to cement a position in the top four with victory over the Bulldogs tonight at 7.30pm, with gates opening at 3.10pm.
