A track fault at Sunshine has caused delays and changes to the Geelong V/Line service on Wednesday evening.

Train services are resuming with delays of up to 60 minutes after the earlier track fault at Sunshine.

EARLIER: Coaches are replacing trains between Sunshine and Waurn Ponds and it is not known at this stage when normal services will resume.

Passengers can use Metro services between Sunshine and Southern Cross to connect with the coach services.

A statement from V/Line said “crews are working hard to rectify the fault and trains will resume as soon as it is safe to do so.”

“Motorists are asked to be vigilant for extra pedestrians and coaches around train stations along the line.”

Two services prior to 7pm did not run to Waurn Ponds from Southern Cross.

The 8.11pm and 8.48pm Waurn Ponds to Southern Cross service will not run today.

V/Line will advise when the trains will resume and passengers are encouraged to check the Public Transport Victoria website for the most up to date information before they travel.
