A man accused of an aggravated burglary in Norlane has fronted court while a woman also allegedly involved remains on the run.
Beau Thorburne, 20, fronted the Geelong Magistrates Court on Monday for a brief hearing.
The Bell Post Hill man was charged after an alleged incident on Station St in Norlane last Thursday.
A police unit on patrol saw a group of masked offenders fleeing a home about 2pm.
Police allege a number of people had earlier entered the property and demanded cash from the 44-year-old male occupant.
Police believe a firearm was discharged into the roof of the home during the incident.
The occupant was not injured during the alleged burglary and was able to get to safety.
Police allege Mr Thorburne hid in a neighbouring home after he fled the property.
Officers from the Critical Incident Response Team were called to the scene and negotiated with him before he exited the property about 6.30pm and was arrested.
Mr Thorburne was then charged with aggravated home invasion, common law kidnap, armed robbery, two counts of common law assault, prohibited person possessing a firearm and committing a schedule one offence while on bail.
Police confirmed on Monday a woman was yet to be arrested by officers and remained on the run.
A sawn-off longarm firearm was found by officers hidden inside the roof of the property Mr Thorburne allegedly hid at.
Police believe the parties were known to each other.
Mr Thorburne made no application for bail in court on Monday.
He will return to court for a committal mention on March 25.
