Toowoomba trick-or-treaters received a big scare for Halloween this year, but not for the reason you may think.
For Tash Pascoe and her family, their outing was cut short after visiting just one scare house, due to the attack of mosquitoes they faced.
“The mozzies were the scariest thing out last night and we got absolutely drilled,” Ms Pascoe said.
“We could see them biting through our clothes, so our night ended with showers, lots of Stop-Itch and a week’s worth of complaining.”
Fortunately, the group managed to score some candy from Rae’s House of Horrors before calling it quits, but Ms Pascoe said they had no regrets.
“After Covid and isolation, it’s nice to reconnect with our neighbours and the community through events like this,” she said.
“The kids get so much enjoyment out of the whole process of picking out their costumes and it’s a really bonding experience for everyone.”
