Toowoomba artist Natasha Wills has created a collection of 35 abstract paintings which are currently on display as part of her Post Nature exhibition.

“I’m not a conceptual artist so for me it’s all about the process where the materials and the work are telling me what to do,” Ms Wills said.

“Just being alive inspires me and my work is a reflection of my internal and external landscapes.”

The multidisciplinary artist said the collection allowed her to explore a new style, combining different shapes of nature, compositions and landscapes.

Ms Wills who has been publicly showcasing her work since she was 17, has previously hosted solo exhibitions in Toowoomba, Sydney and Melbourne.

Painting the collection from a small home-based studio right by her bedroom, the Toowoomba artist said it took about two years for the series to evolve.

“Art for me is all about persistence, growth, problem solving and freedom,” Ms Wills said.

“The reason I make art is because I want to put it out into the world and inspire others.”

“I hope people will look closely, be curious and find something that means something to them.”

The Post Nature exhibition will be on display at the Crows Nest Gallery until May 28.

An artist meet and greet will be held at the gallery on Saturday, May 13 from 11am.

Paintings can be purchased at the exhibition. Admission is free.
