Free survey: Has your child been bullied in Toowoomba schools?

Bullying in Queensland schools is in the spotlight again after two recent tragedies. To help raise awareness and work towards solutions for this insidious problem, we’re asking Toowoomba parents of children who have been bullied to share their experiences in this online survey.

Every child should have the right to go to school and learn without fear of being targeted, tormented or physically assaulted by their peers, but sadly the education and wellbeing of many Queensland students is at threat as bullying intensifies.

Parents and members of the education sector across the state were left devastated when it was revealed two teens who attended a Brisbane-based high school, took their own lives after they reportedly became victims of “unchecked bullying”.

The tragedy is one of many issues which have shone a light on the insidious issue of bullying in Queensland schools with desperate calls for action.

In late 2021, 15-year-old Toowoomba student Zaeden Clayton took his own life as a result of a heartless catfishing prank initiated by a group of school bullies.

Months later, The Chronicle reported on sickening footage of a frightened Toowoomba teen attempting to run from other students before she was pulled to the ground and punched in the head dozens of times.

Less than two months ago in a separate incident, another young Toowoomba boy was filmed being assaulted by three other boys.
