GET ready for a night of feasting because Friday Nite Bites is finally here.
The highly anticipated event was originally planned to be held on March 18 but was cancelled just days out.
It came after the Toowoomba Regional Council made the decision not to allow vehicles including food vans on the Civic Precinct grass.
The event kicks off this afternoon from 4pm - 9pm, now at a new location, The Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre.
Organiser Charles Tzannes said he was excited to finally get the markets off the ground.
"We are really looking forward to it. We aren't sure how it's going to go being a new event but I think it will be well received by people," he said.
"There are a handful of vendors who couldn't make it to this event but we have a good group of food vans here for the first event.
"It will almost be like a soft opening and we will come back bigger and better next month."
Some food vendors include Best Dumplings, Simplicitea, Mrs G's Gourmet Pies, Primal Urge, Popcorn Man and Plant Based Dough Co.
With a range of tasty treats to choose from there is sure to be line-ups at every stall.
Mr Tzannes suggests people arrive early so they don't miss out.
"I know sometimes market stalls run out of food because they are so popular," he said.
"We are catering for about 1500 people but being our first event we don't know how many people will show."
Plant Based Dough Co. knows a thing or two about selling out of its delicious baked goods.
The vegan doughnut business can be found at the Boundary Street Markets on Friday nights.
But tonight, the vibrant, sweet-tasting doughnuts will be available to Toowoomba residents.
Plant Based Dough Co. caters to those with dairy and egg allergies, as well as those who just love great tasting doughnuts.
They are the creation of Toowoomba friends Christian Burling and Alex Griffiths.
Market-goers go crazy for the sweet baked goods and The Urban List Brisbane said no trip to the Boundary Street Markets was complete without devouring one of the doughnuts.
Mr Burling said they were excited to bring their creations to their hometown.
"When we started the business we were looking for food markets with great atmosphere and passionate vendors who create unique products," he said.
"At that point there weren't any viable options in Toowoomba, which is why we are really excited for Friday Nite Bites.
"These doughnuts are a labour of love, a blend of hard work and creativity."
He said people were often shocked that the doughnuts tasted so good without using any animal products.
"People respond well to the fact that our doughnuts are made from ethically sourced ingredients, without compromising the taste," he said.
Tonight's flavours include triple choc brownie, peanut buttercup, Tim Tam, Snickers and strawberries and cream.
