Police have released eerie CCTV footage of a man they want to speak to after a series of blazes across Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
Just after 3am on Tuesday, March 18, Edgecliff locals were woken up as a car burst into flames.
Police and firefighters arrived at the scene and put out the blaze but the car was destroyed.
Minutes later police located a burnt chair down the road in Paddington.
Officers believe the fires may be linked to a similar blaze in September last year when a rubbish bin was set alight.
In the vision released by cops, the man appears to casually wander the empty streets late-at-night.
At one point he makes direct eye contact with the camera but looks unphased and continues walking.
In another frame, he appears to notice the CCTV and pulls his T-shirt up to cover his lower face.
The man is of caucasian appearance, about 180 centimetres tall, of medium build and with neck-length black hair.
Police have made no arrests but are urging the public to come forward if they have any information.
