A SWELL of community support has helped the region's only community drug rehabilitation centre win a national grant worth $10,000.

Sunrise Way was the winner of the major prize in the Westfund Community Grants program, after scoring a third of the vote against four other worthy causes.

CEO Louise Sanderson was thrilled with the result, saying it showed Toowoomba's support for the facility.

"We're thrilled to have been identified as the national winners," she said.

"We have a funding gap that we have to realise through grants and other opportunities.

"The community vote certainly indicates the support they have for the service and the outcomes we can achieve.

"This demonstrates the community holds the residents on their shoulders - It's nice that they're helping to sustain that."

The grant will go towards meeting the organisation's funding gap, with government and patient support making up 95 per cent of it budget.

"I'd like to thank our staff in providing the services to the community we serve," Ms Sanderson said.
