Driver faces noise charges after losing control of car

WHEN a 20-year-old man lost control of his car, the spinning tyres could be heard 900 metres away. He admitted he 'may have been going a little fast'.

A DRIVER who nearly lost control of his vehicle around a corner has been charged for causing unnecessary noise.

Dalby police were dealing with a party at 10.25pm on March 14 and observed a large number of cars leaving.

Officers saw a vehicle driven by Nicholas Paul Bacon, 20, drive at speed onto the Warrego Hwy, causing his dark sedan to lose traction on the road and fishtail.

The sound of Bacon's tyres spinning could be heard at the party about 900 metres away.

When pulled over, Bacon told police "he may have been going a little fast".

He pleaded guilty in Dalby Magistrates Court last Tuesday.

Magistrate Kay Ryan recorded a conviction and fined Bacon $600.

His vehicle has also been immobilised.
