ROADWORKS are underway across the region. Here is a list of the works, delays and completion dates. It's essential information for planning your next road trip.

MAJOR roadworks are underway across much of the Darling Downs and south-west Queensland, causing unavoidable delays and diversions for motorists.

The worst of the delays are on the Toowoomba Range, with motorists forced to wait at least half an hour.

Roadworks are spread along the Gore Hwy between Toowoomba and Millmerran, with at times more than six sections where traffic is forced to stop.

Here is a complete list of the major works, expected delays and completion dates.

Darling Downs

Warrego Highway - Toowoomba to Witchott

Safety upgrade of batter slopes above up and down lanes, and realignment of down lanes involving construction of new road over 1.2km

Delay: about 30 minutes

Completion: Late March 2014

Warrego Highway - Jondaryan to Toowoomba

Reconstruction over a 30km section

Delay: up to 15 minutes

Completion: Late 2013

New England Highway - Toowoomba to Warwick

Works on overtaking lane north of Greenmount East. Overtaking lane is closed.

Delay: Up to 5 minutes

Completion: June 2013

Gore Highway - Toowoomba to Millmerran

Reconstruction of 25km of the highway at various locations

Delay: Up to 15 minutes]

Warrego Highway - Roma to Mitchell

Asphalt overlay works on 400m section west of Currey Street

Delay: Up to 10 minutes

Completion:  Mid June 2013

Warrego Highway - Roma to Mitchell

Reconstruction of 4km, 6km west of Roma and repair of Cattle Creek Crossing

Delay: Up to 10 minutes

Completion: Mid 2013

Warrego Highway - Roma to Mitchell

Reconstruction of 7km from Bungeworgorai Creek to Hodgson (11km to 18km west of Roma)

Delay: Up to 15 minutes 

Completion: Late 2013

Warrego Highway - Roma to Mitchell

Reconstruction of 9km, 31km west of Roma

Delay: Up to 15 minutes

Completion: Mid 2013

Warrego Highway - Roma to Mitchell

Reconstruction works at various locations between 40km and 77km west of Roma

Delay: Up to 15 minutes

Completion: Expected start late June/early July 2013, expected completion early 2014

Warrego Highway - Mitchell to Morven

Mitchell West deviation works and reconstruction works from Mitchell township to  breakdown pad 3.75km west of Mitchell

Delay: Up to 10 minutes

Completion: Expected start late June/early July 2013, expected completion early 2014

Warrego Highway - Mitchell to Morven

Reconstruction works at various locations up to 82km (up to five sites operating in June)

Delay: Up to 20 minutes

Completion: Late 2013

Warrego Highway - Morven to Charleville

Reconstruction works at various locations up to 87km

Moonie Highway - Westmar to St George

Culvert and shoulder repairs and pavement overlay works in short sections over the 80km stretch

Roma - Condamine Road - Near Yuleba Creek

Pavement rehabilitation works near Yuleba Creek

Delay: Up to 10 minutes

Completion: Mid 2013

Cooper Developmental Road - Quilpie to Bellalie

Reconstruction at various locations over 140km

Delay: Up to 10 minutes
