'Disgust' over council's spending of ratepayer money

I read Monday’s The Chronicle and was disgusted to see how the Toowoomba Regional Council is wasting ratepayers’ money.

YOUR SAY: I read Monday's The Chronicle and was disgusted to see how the Toowoomba Regional Council is wasting ratepayers' money.

First, they have contributed our money to help a Brisbane motor bike club set up a dirt track that will compete with an existing complex that will suffer from this project.

Second, there was the ice rink they built at who knows what cost for only dozens of families to use.

Not only that, they are already speaking of wasting money next year for the same reason.

As I live in Oakey and see no expenditure here from my rates and often read in letters to The Chronicle from other towns in this shire they feel just as neglected, I can only surmise our elected councillors don't know their way out of Toowoomba to see the rest of their shire.

Stop spending our money to entertain a few and start spending it on the people who are forced to pay our rates to a backslapping council which doesn't give a damn unless they can get their name or photo in the media.
