Residents in a small street of Toowoomba opposite a popular park might have to contend with six new units, after plans were lodged with council this week.
Applicant Malyshka Pottinger Pty Ltd submitted a proposal to build half a dozen “townhouse-style” units on Pottinger St in Newtown, directly opposite Newtown Park.
According to the planning report attached to the application, the three bedroom units would cover two storeys.
“The buildings will be of contemporary design and satisfy the council’s desired intent for the area,” the report said.
“The area designation is low-medium density residential with the site located in the urban residential precinct.”
Because the proposal is “code-assessable” under the council’s planning scheme, feedback from residents is not required as part of the assessment process.
The TRC has yet to respond to the application.
