THE signage for a top British car marque could be appearing along a main Toowoomba road soon, as the city’s dealerships continue to make rebranding changes.
Major Media last week submitted plans with the Toowoomba Regional Council to erect MG Motors signage at the West-Star Motors dealership on the corner of James and Hume Sts.
According to the plans, the new signs would sit next to West-Star Motors other branding for Hyundai and Mercedes Benz.
“The site is currently improved by three main car dealerships tenancies, showrooms (Hyundai, Mercedes Benz and Mitsubishi motors) and one service/parts storage area,” the report said.
“The proposed signage relates to tenancy three, which is to be occupied by MG and was previously occupied by Mitsubishi Motors.”
The plans include a 6m pylon sign with the MG marque and four wall signs for the exterior.
It comes just a few months after the famous Holden signs were pulled down from outside the Toowoomba Holden dealership on the diagonally opposite corner.
Both properties are owned by the same company.
According to its website, Major Media has erected similar signage for MG Motors in the past across Australia.
The council has yet to respond with a request for more information.
