TODAY'S development assessment panel meeting will consider two requests for discounts by developers.

Ozcare is asking the council for a waiver of infrastructure charges payable in relation to its 150-room residential care facility in Greenwattle St, Glenvale.

The developer is facing a difficult obstacle, with planning officers recommending no wavier be granted.

Ozcare has argued it deserves a discount as it is a not-for-profit organisation and noted other councils in Queensland had granted waivers.

Developer Janflow Pty Ltd, which was granted approval to build a four-storey office on the corner of Kitchener and Phillip Sts in December last year, will seek to negotiate the amount of infrastructure charges due to be paid to the council.

Planners will recommend an "in-part" approval of the request.
