A woman has been rushed to hospital after crashing into a pole on an arterial Gold Coast road on Wednesday.

Police and paramedics were called to Currumburra Rd at Ashmore Rd at 6.34am on July 23.

One lane of traffic was blocked for about 45 minutes, a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said.

The woman in her 40s has been taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with minor face and chest injuries.

The crash was one in a string of collisions on the Gold Coast on Tuesday night.

At around 6.10pm on Tuesday, a ute travelling on Gilston Rd at Gilston hit a power pole after the driver swerved to avoid a group of deer on the roadway.

Less than two hours later at about 8pm, the 20-year-old male driver of a Nissan Skyline lost control of the car on Price St at Nerang and collided with a power pole.

The pole fell onto the car as a result of the impact, though neither the driver nor the 20-year-old female passenger was injured.

The 20-year-old man provided a negative roadside breath test, but was issued a traffic infringement for failing to maintain proper control of a vehicle.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a Subaru Forester collided with a parked Holden Colorado ute on Marine Pde at Southport.

Police were not able to find the driving at the scene of the crash or in the surrounding area, but the car had not been reported as stolen.
