A Toowoomba primary school has applied to Toowoomba Regional Council for a massive revamp of a number of its buildings.
The Corporation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba on behalf of
Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School has submitted a development application to redevelop several buildings in three stages along the school’s northern (Ascott Street) frontage.
According to plans, stage one of the works will involve the refurbishment of the Merici building, located near the intersection of Ascot and Goodwood Streets.
The building will be refurbished, with the provision of an additional general learning area on the ground floor level and another learning area on the first floor level, both as extensions to the northern side of the building.
Stairs will be replaced, and structures in front of the building will be removed.
Under the second stage of the development, the Hildegarde Building and Jarowair Building will be demolished and replaced with a double storey administration building.
The ground floor of the new building will include the reception area, principal’s office, assistant principal offices, interview room, sick bay, tech store, and staff amenities.
The third stage will involve the refurbishment of the Giabal building, and will make provision for an additional learning area and student amenities on the ground floor level, and an additional multipurpose room and uniform/tech store on the first floor.
The proposal is under assessment by TRC.
