A plan for new camping, bushwalking and eco-tourism attractions has been proposed for a massive parcel of land in Lockyer Valley.
Applicants Donald and Glynn Crosby lodged a development application last week with the Lockyer Valley Regional Council to create five camping sites and a network of walking trails on more than 3100 hectares at Townson, 30km south of Laidley.
According to the report by Clark Town Planning, the accommodation facilities will be used by schools and church groups.”
It is anticipated that up to 100 people will be able to access the site at any one time,” the report said.
“This would typically be organised groups such as Legacy Foundation camps, school excursions or camps for up to three classes of 30 students plus teachers and parents.
“When groups arrive, they will check in at the caretaker’s cottage where a safety briefing will be held.
“The land will be used for short stays of up to five days.”
The DA also included a risk assessment report.
