Annual report reveals what councillors, Toowoomba Regional Council executive team made in 2019-20
Toowoomba’s councillors and its executive leadership team earned more than $3 million in remuneration during the past financial year, according to the latest annual report.

The transition of councils meant there were 15 current and former councillors who earned income during the 2019-20 financial year.
The remuneration rates are set by the State Government based on the level of council.
Mayor Paul Antonio understandably earned the most, with $179,000, while former Deputy Mayor Carol Taylor was next with $120,000.
New Deputy Mayor Geoff McDonald, who only spent the last two months of the 2019-20 period in the role, earned $108,000, while other returning councillors Bill Cahill, Megan O’Hara Sullivan, James O’Shea and Nancy Sommerfield all earned $106,000.
Ex-councillors Anne Glasheen, Joe Ramia, Chris Tait and Mike Williams all received $87,000 as part of their roles in the council.
New councillors Tim McMahon, Kerry Shine, Melissa Taylor and Rebecca Vonhoff earned about $18,000 during the final quarter of the financial year.
The total superannuation contributions by the council to its elected members was more than $150,000.
The TRC’s executive team, which is made up of CEO Brian Pidgeon and eight other general managers and senior officers, earned about $400,000 more from the previous period to report a remuneration of $2.43 million.
Mr Pidgeon’s salary is between $300,000-400,000.
