CONSTRUCTION is set to begin soon on a new office precinct where the former Amigo's restaurant once stood.

RMA Engineers, the engineering firm working on the DSP Investments development, shared on their website construction would begin on the office building in the second half of 2020.

"Located on Margaret St, the new multi-storey building will house modern offices overlooking Queens Park," the website read.

"Our multidisciplinary team has delivered a holistic design that has integrated the heritage fabric of the surrounding sites within a contemporary and modern office setting.

"RMA's structural, civil and hydraulic teams are currently working on the construction documentation before construction kicks off in the second half of 2020.

"It is great to see continued commercial development and growth in the Toowoomba region."

Plans for the office block were originally submitted to council back in 2018, though have been through several revisions since first submission.

The office block will be three storeys high and will feature multiple office spaces, but only two storeys will be visible from Margaret St.

All three storeys will be visible from Church St.

The office block is being built at the space the former Amigo's Bar and Grill restaurant once stood.

The restaurant was destroyed by fire in June 2017.
