Construction starts today on $1.6 billion bypass

AS construction works officially start today in the Lockyer Valley on the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing a number of workshops are being planned.

AS construction works officially start today in the Lockyer Valley on the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing a number of workshops are being planned.

Construction group Nexus Infrastructure says the workshops will keep the community up to date on the $1.6 billion project.

Drop-in information sessions have already been held in the Lockyer Valley and more are planned in Toowoomba.

A Nexus spokesman said members of the local community were invited.

Over the coming weeks the community can expect to see site clearing along the 41km-long project corridor, with all works undertaken in accordance with strict environmental management approvals.

In addition, there will be minor service relocations, erection of project signage, survey works, and establishment of access tracks into the project corridor.

  • May 12, 5-8pm, Helidon Community Hall, Arthur St, Helidon
  • May 17, 3-6pm, Wellcamp State School, 609 Drayton - Wellcamp Rd, Wellcamp
  • May 24, 3-6pm, Westbrook Tavern Function Room, 68 - 78 Main St, Westbrook
  • June 8, 3-6pm, Gowrie Junction Progress Association and Community Hall, Old Homebush Road, Gowrie Junction
