Where are the jobs coming from?
Letter to the Editor writer asks why doesn’t the State Government tell us what the plan is for future jobs.

QCOSS has released figures showing that unemployment in Toowoomba had spiked to 8.1% compared to 2.8% in February.
As well, 13,578 people in Toowoomba are accessing Job Seeker and 3287 organisations are on Job Keeper.
The State Labor Government has not forecast where these figures will be in say three or six months’ time based on their “plan”. They say they will create jobs but are they full time, part time, casual, or just hourly jobs?
Given that the COVID-19 lockdown has had a significant impact on employment and this was controlled by the State Government surely it isn’t too much to ask what is the plan?
And again, please leave out the projects like the James St East and West creek culvert jobs that are neither new or future based projects.
Why can’t the government release on a monthly basis a rolling three-month forecast on where they see unemployment going in Queensland?
Let’s see some of that so-called consistent number producing business that they can do for COVID-19 but not for other things.
