Toowoomba’s Civic Square will come alive with a dazzling display of multiculturalism this Australia Day, while celebrating 100 years of Rotary in Australia. Here’s how it will go down:

The Rotary clubs of Toowoomba are getting together to celebrate this Australia Day – and the whole community is invited.
Toowoomba’s Civic Square will come alive with the sights, sounds, and smells of the Garden City’s multiculturalism on January 26, with a special day sponsored by the Australia Day Council and the combined Rotary clubs of Toowoomba.
The day will also celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Australia.
Running from 1-5pm, the event will feature an acknowledgement of country, a dazzling display of multicultural performances, and an offering of delicious cuisine from all over the world.
The afternoon will include everything from Indian dance, to Bollywood, Toowoomba’s Taiko Drummers, Yazidi dancers, and even award-winning Toowoomba singer/songwriter Peter Campbell.
There’ll also be soccer for people to play, and market and information stalls.
During afternoon, three citizenship ceremonies will be held in The Annex, adjacent to where the festivities are being held.
In between the ceremonies, Toowoomba Regional Council mayor Paul Antonio will speak on behalf of the Toowoomba Community.
The event is free and all are welcome.
