IN WHAT could be the most recent nomination for “Dumb Crim of the Year”, Toowoomba chap’s antics had those in court giggling this week.

The court heard the 23-year-old had been playing up at a residential home and so police were called.

When the cops arrived, our man did a runner and must have wondered why initially the officers couldn’t be bothered entering into a foot chase.

That might be because the known offender, as part of his bail conditions, was wearing an ankle bracelet that included a GPS tracker telling police where he was at all times.

He was soon found hiding, but still couldn’t work out why the police were such good Hide and Seek players.

HOW TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION

YOUNG chap working on ways to impress an attractive young lass who had started working at the inner-city Toowoomba office.

Seeing her coming down the hallway toward his office area, our man tried to act suave and sophisticated as he picked up some files off the desk, turned and stood straight into the waste paper basket, tipping paper all over the floor.

He certainly had her attention, that’s for sure.

TRUMP NOT THE ONLY ONE SUSPICIOUS OF BALLOTS

RETIRED local rugby league official knows only too well about dodgy elections.

He tells Whispers of an instance when voting for an A grade representative coach many years ago.

He said he thought his nomination was a shoe in as he believed he had the numbers but when another chap got the job he was left scratching his head.

With only five votes to pick the appointee, he quietly checked with two others who assured him they had voted for his man too.

Yet somehow the board of five had appointed a roughie.
