TURNS out Toowoomba Regional councillors are just like any resident – they can be booked for speeding and parking fines as well.
One councillor discovered this after supposedly getting three points for speeding while driving down Margaret St in East Toowoomba earlier this month.
The admission came after said councillor boasted how many parking fines he kept receiving, joking that it was helping the TRC coffers.
Said at a press conference, the statement was met with roars of laughter from the gallery.
VOICE FROM ABOVE?
THOSE attending a funeral in Toowoomba during the week could have believed there was some divine intervention going on.
As the minister read out one of the deceased’s favourite psalms, suddenly a clap of thunder so loud it shook the congregation rang out, giving a start to those in the pews.
However, the minister continued on regardless but when he came to the end of the psalm, two less intense claps of thunder rang out in the skies above the church.
“That was an Amen!” the minister quipped.
HARDLY A PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY
NEWTOWN chap must have had an even better time at a party last weekend than he thought.
Shown a photo the next day of a group at the party, he couldn’t recognise two people in the pic.
It was pointed out to him that those two were in fact him and his brother.
