Toowoomba NDIS accountability: Send us your stories, tip-offs about disability abuse, neglect

The Chronicle wants to hear stories about residents’ dealings with the NDIS to support our new campaign. Here’s how you can enter:

The National Disability Insurance Scheme is used by thousands of people in Toowoomba and the Darling Downs — and we want to hear about your stories and experiences.

The Chronicle and NewsCorp is launching a new NDIS accountability campaign, to examine abuse, neglect and inequity within the system.

Our paper has a track record of supporting marginalised people against the scheme, such as Michael Cooper’s battle to get his seeing-eye dog back or Angus Hopkins needing to use a wheelbarrow while he waited for his new wheelchair.

You can tip us off about your own situation or someone you know — we will treat your story with sensitivity and compassion.

We will also consider anonymity where appropriate and won’t publish details unless discussed with you prior.
