Toowoomba Hospital Foundation’s first Great Western Road Trip a success

HELLER St Park was bustling with happy campers on Friday morning, as a convoy prepared to set off on the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation’s first Great Western Road Trip.

The four-day guided driving experience will take participants off the beaten track in towns surrounding the Garden City, including Stanthorpe and Nindigully.

“We’re super excited to be on the road with 32 cars, that’s over 80 keen road trippers joining us over four-days this long weekend for our very first fundraising road trip,” Toowoomba Hospital Foundation CEO Alison Kennedy said.

“All we asked our participants to do was fundraise $1,000 and a lot of them have hit that mark or gone above and beyond.”

Ms Kennedy said the atmosphere as the participants set off was “buzzing”.

All funds raised will go towards the mobile rural mental health outreach program.
